Finding the right boat
Think about how you want to use your new boat, what characteristics are you looking for. If performance is a main criteria then maybe think about a sportsboat, if accommodation is more of an issue a flybridge motorcruiser maybe a better option.
This will enable you to narrow your search and make the decision process easier. You will then be able view a selection of boats that meet your criteria and make an informed decision at that point.

Other costs
Your budget may want to include other related costs such as mooring, it is wise to secure a mooring before buying the boat. Annual maintenance costs include engine servicing, lift out, yard storage, antifouling and polishing. Insurance is another cost that must be taken into consideration.

Survey
It is wise precaution to have a qualified marine surveyor to check the boat and its systems prior to completion. This will give you the peace of mind that you are purchasing a boat in good condition.

Insurance
Marine insurance is compulsory in many ports and marinas, policies will vary and third party liability cover will also vary.

Title/registration
You should ensure that you have evidence of clear title on any purchase. The motorboats direct contracts service can assist you in ensuring that title is clear.
